3. Submit the application: Submit the information of the DOT registered manufacturer, the agent documents and the application form to the U.S. Department of Transportation;

4. Document review: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reviews the submitted documents;

5. Issuance of documents: After the documents are approved, the U.S. Department of Transportation will officially issue a DOT registration confirmation letter;

6. Online formula: After the product is successfully registered, the official website will publicize the information of the manufacturer and the product.

It should be noted that the agent authorization is usually 3 years, 5 years. When the agent authorization time is about to expire, it is necessary to update the agent authorization document as soon as possible and re-apply for the DOT registration confirmation letter to ensure that the manufacturer can export and sell normally.
