Introduction to tractor e-mark certification

The e-mark certification is a vehicle certification issued by the European Community. It applies to vehicles sold and used within the European Economic Area, including tractors. The e-mark indicates that the vehicle complies with the technical standards and regulations of the European Economic Area and is eligible for free circulation within the European Union.

Tractors are required to obtain e-mark certification to prove that they meet European standards in terms of safety, environmental protection and quality. Tractor manufacturers are required to carry out relevant tests and documentation in order to obtain e-mark certification. In general, tractors need to pass the technical test of a certified laboratory, which generally includes:

After obtaining the e-mark certification, the tractor can be legally sold and used in the European market, which is also necessary for export to the European market. It should be noted that the e-mark certification mark is a mandatory certification and tractors that are not certified will not be able to legally circulate in the EEA market.
